Stephanie Lauwrencia Christianto, B.Mus (Hons), NCTM is an Indonesian pianist, composer, chamber musician, and music educator with a passion for nurturing music educator and raising mental health awareness among musicians. She has performed in some of the world's most prestigious venues, including Het Concertgebouw (The Royal Concertgebouw) in Amsterdam, Grote Zaal of TivoliVredenBurg in Utrecht, and Kavelan Nevatta Concert Hall in Seinajoki, Finland.

Having earned her Bachelor of Music with Honours degree in Classical Piano Performance and awarded to pursue double Honors Programs in Pipe Organ Performance and Composition from the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium, The Netherlands - Stephanie was awarded a full scholarships to pursue her Master of Music degree, majoring in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, where she also served as a graduate teaching associate at Baylor University School of Music, Texas, United States.

Her teachers include Mrs. Priskila Jonathan, Mrs. Indrawati Djie Hong Ing, Mr. Stephen Kurniawan Tamadji, Mr. Kenan Loui Widjaja, Mrs. Elisabeth Surjadinata, Mrs. Soe Kim Wie, and her professors include Dr. Johannes Sebastian Nugroho, Prof. Klara Wurtz, Prof. Caroline Ansink, Prof. Reitze Smits, and most recently, Dr. Bradley Bolen and Dr. Lesley McAllister.

Stephanie’s competition successes include winning prizes at the Indonesia Piano Competition, Alberti International Piano Competition, Elly Lim Music Festival, Yamaha Piano Competition, Kompetisi Piano Nusantara, Prinses Christina Concours in The Netherlands, among others.

Awarded as recipient of the Texas Music Teacher Association Travel Grant 2023, she presented her research poster on “Musician Burnout is Real! Addressing Mental Health Crises Among Musician” at the Music Teacher National Association National Conference 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. On top of that, she was also invited to present her research in January 2024 for the Waco Music Teachers Association in Texas as a guest speaker, as well as presented a research poster titled, “Engaging Color Analysis in Music Reading” at the Graduate Research Showcase 2023 at Baylor University and MTNA Collegiate Chapters Symposium at Texas Christian University. She is going to be a speaker at the 2025 MTNA National Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Stephanie was also serving as the Vice President of Baylor University Music Teacher National Association (BUMTNA Chapter) for the year 2023-2024.

Committed to music education, Stephanie has taken Piano Pedagogy courses with one of the renowned clinician in the United States, Dr. Lesley McAllister. She is currently intensively teach both piano minors as well as Piano Laboratory Project at Baylor University. Her approach to teaching emphasizes not only technical excellence, but also the development of emotional and mental well-being, recognizing the unique challenges that musicians face in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Stephanie is also holding the designation as a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) in the United States. 

Beyond her work as a performer and educator, Stephanie is also passionate about raising mental health awareness in the music community. In 2023, Stephanie founded ThePianoLabs, a digital platform which aims to helping music students achieve their full potential, both as pianists and as individuals.
